THE $500 million Ecco Ripley community is wrapping up 2017 with significant sales and several major development milestones as it continues to evolve as the heart of the Ripley region.
Affordability has driven the masterplanned community’s 2017 sales total of more than $36 million, with first home buyers representing 43 per cent of purchasers.
Locals figured strongly in Ecco Ripley’s sales activity with 70 per cent of buyers coming from South East Queensland, including almost 40 per cent from Ipswich and 18 per cent from Brisbane.
Sekisui House state sales manager Scott Blaney said purchasers had been galvanised by the community’s accessible price point, the ongoing release, development of quality housing products and lifestyle-oriented community infrastructure.
“This year we have launched the first two stages of our Lighthaven community, which is just on the doorstep of the Ripley Town Centre that is due to open early 2018,” Mr Blaney said.
“And we’re continuing to welcome new residents with around 125 homes constructed in our Brooking Rise neighbourhood throughout 2017, bringing the total homes under construction or constructed to more than 500 homes at Ecco Ripley.
“On the environmental front, we are continuing to rehabilitate sections of Bundamba Creek adding to the 180,000 ground cover species and native trees already planted at Ecco Ripley.”
Mr Blaney said Ecco Ripley’s sense of community continues to grow as more and more residents move in.
“That led us to recently appoint Sarah Hardie as Ecco Ripley’s new community development officer,” he said.
“Sarah’s role will be to help build a connected, inclusive and sustainable community here at Ecco Ripley which is planned to have a population of more than 10,000 people.”
Ecco Ripley has already hosted an array of successful community events this year including two footy clinics and the Lighthaven launch event complete with food trucks, fireworks, arts and crafts and kids activities.
Mr Blaney said 2018 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Ecco Ripley with the delivery of Stage 1 of the Ripley Town Centre and the completion of 10 hectares of parklands and green open space.
“The first instalment of the $1.5 billion Ripley Town Centre will bring shopping, dining, recreational facilities and community spaces to the doorstep of Ecco Ripley,” he said.
“For those wanting to get active or simply relax, the community’s 10 hectares of parkland and green open space will include walking tracks, playgrounds, a multi-purpose court, basketball court, half court netball, large kickabout areas, an outdoor gym, dog park, learn to ride track and an amenities block.
“These two pieces of infrastructure will greatly enhance the lifestyle on offer here at Ecco Ripley and support its status as the emerging hub of the Ripley Valley region.”
