FAMILIES, friends, and neighbours came together to celebrate the festive season by attending the Ecco Ripley Community Christmas Party in December.
The day featured a visit from Santa, an animal petting zoo, pony rides, jumping castles, a sausage sizzle and more.
Ecco Ripley Community Development Officer Sarah Hardie described the party as a huge success.
“Santa and his reindeer made a surprise appearance and handed out lollies, much to the delight of the kids,” she said.
“Two resident teenagers were inspired to get involved in the Christmas event, and identified a tree in the community which will be decorated each year, and be known as the Ecco Ripley Christmas tree.
“Village Church attended and cooked sausages for the event at no charge to the community, which complimented the many plates of food that residents brought with them to share with their neighbours.”
Ipswich City Councillor Kerry Silver was also in attendance to provide her support and formally open the event. The event was followed by a two hour Christmas light tour around the community, in which three houses hosted residents with refreshments and home-made treats on their front lawns.
Shelley from Rental Invest organised the photography on the day.
Following the success of the 2017 event, Ecco Ripley hope that will provide a catalyst for resident participation and engagement in 2018.
