Making the move to Ripley

POSTED September 7, 2017

THREE new tenants have secured space in the first stage of Ripley Town Centre, adding momentum to the $1.5 billion project destined to underpin the long-term growth of the entire Ripley Valley region and the broader Ipswich city.

Sekisui House has secured a pharmacy, dental practice and veterinary surgery to operate alongside the previously announced medical centre that will service the burgeoning western corridor.

With construction well underway, the Ripley Town Centre is poised to create an exciting new regional hub that will service up to 120,000 people expected to call the Ripley Valley region home over the next 20 years.

Ripley Town Centre will ultimately comprise a transit-oriented mixed-use development of commercial, office and retail spaces, a dining precinct, proposed regional transit hub, community and entertainment facilities as well as a major public park and residential precincts.

The $40 million first stage, which includes the recently secured medical centre, is due for completion in early 2018.

Alongside the medical centre at Ripley Town Centre, a

250sq m lease has been secured by The Pharmacy Collective to house a Pharmacy 4 Less chemist.

Dentist Dr Nauv Kashyap has also committed to a 120sq m lease where he plans to set up his eighth south east Queensland practice, building on the success of existing practices at Yamanto, Raceview, Brassall, Brookwater, Red Hill, Sandstone Point and Hope Island.

Ipswich veterinarian Andrew Hemming has taken a 200sqm tenancy where he will open a second surgery, building on the success of his existing practice, Flinders View Veterinary Surgery, which has been servicing Ipswich since 2012.

The new tenancies build on Sekisui House’s long-term vision for the Ripley Town Centre which will become the primary Town Centre for the entire Ripley Valley region and the surrounding areas.

Sekisui House Australia CEO and managing director Toru Abe said the tenants’ commitment to the Ripley Town Centre reinforces the importance the Town Centre will have on all the surrounding communities.

“The Ripley Town Centre will provide the entire region with a wide array of essential health and wellbeing services under one roof with the three new tenancies complementing the suite of services to be offered by the medical precinct,” Mr Abe said.

“The presence of the veterinary clinic recognises the value many households place on the health of their furry family members and we are delighted to have attracted a local vet to the Town Centre,” he said.

Ripley Town Centre is proving to be a major catalyst for homebuyer activity in Ripley Valley region including Sekisui House’s $500 million Ecco Ripley residential community. The Town Centre is poised to become an exciting new community and regional hub to service Ecco Ripley and neighbouring developments such as Providence and other Ripley Valley region developments.

Ipswich Division 3 Councillor Kerry Silver has welcomed the latest businesses to show their confidence in the emerging Town Centre.

“This is an exciting time for the Ripley Valley region communities as Ripley Town Centre begins to take shape,” Cr Silver said.

“The new medical centre and the supporting tenancies that have followed will greatly improve the amenity for residents and this will continue to drive the broad appeal of the entire region.”

The first stage of Ripley Town Centre will comprise a marketplace-style centre totalling 9,400sq m, anchored by a 3,800sq m Coles supermarket and supported by 20 specialty stores, the medical centre and commercial office space.

Ripley Town Centre developer Sekisui House, which is also behind the $500 million Ecco Ripley residential community, is anticipating completion of the first stage in early 2018.

Ripley Town Centre is working towards Green Star accreditation through energy efficiency measures, including rainwater harvesting and the use of photovoltaic solar panels on roofs and car park shade structures.
