The emerging urban lifestyle of Ecco Ripley is about to reach a bigger audience following a partnership between developer Sekisui House and Channel Seven.
Under the agreement, Channel 7 is creating a series of educational videos about Ecco Ripley and Ripley Town Centre, culminating in a segment on Channel 7’s The Great Day Out program to be aired on October 22.
The Channel 7 crew, led by The Great Day Out presenter Jessica Skarratt, has been out and about scouting locations and attending community events throughout the region to highlight in the program.
The Great Day Out, formally known as The Great South East, has become a staple Sunday afternoon program on Channel 7 over the past 20 years by delivering the latest in lifestyle and travel across the great south-east of Queensland.
The producers are keen to focus on Brisbane’s western growth corridor, and the important part the Ripley region is playing in this growth story.
“I have had the good fortune to be a presenter on Channel Seven’s lifestyle programs for the past 10 years,” Ms Skarratt said.
“During this time I have seen the transformation of the city of Ipswich and its surrounding regions.
“Ipswich has a new lease on life – the beautiful old historic buildings are still there, but many of them have been beautifully restored and repurposed.
“The region is a destination in itself for breweries, bars and cafes. The entire area continues to grow with more and more people moving there, and it is evident why.”
The Great Day Out team will be uncovering the many hidden gems throughout Ipswich that add depth to the lifestyle of the region.
“The partnership with Channel 7 creates a wonderful opportunity for us to share our passion for the area and the long-term commitment by Sekisui House to bring this to fruition,” said Ecco Ripley Sales Manager Scott Blaney.
“Channel 7 has recognised the part that Ecco Ripley and the Ripley Town Centre are playing in the city’s renaissance through the creation of a new urban and lifestyle heart for the entire region.
“We’re very excited that a program the calibre of The Great Day Out has chosen to highlight what many people in the area already know – that this is a great place to work and live.”
Stage one of the $1.5 billion Ripley Town Centre is due to open in early 2018.
The master plan for the Town Centre includes provision for a major regional transport hub, as well as commercial, office, retail and residential nodes with extensive areas of open public space.
Over the life of the project, the Town Centre is expected to create 20,000 jobs when completed.
